We realise that everyone has different ideas of how they wish their special day to be, whether it is in a village church or a civil venue. You can legally get married at Harmony as we are a registered place of worship, and would describe ourselves as somewhere between a traditional religious church service and a register office ceremony.

We believe in offering a loving, personal service for two special people who have found love with each other and want to have that recognised in front of family and friends.

We are all about LOVE and going that extra mile to make our couple's day relaxed, but special - just as they are, because isn't that what marriage is all about - to build a home and family on love?
We follow the recognised Soleminsation of Marriage format to meet legal requirements, but the bride and groom can add their own personal vows, readings and music if they wish.

Here's How It Works...

Before the day of the service we offer a Blessing of the Rings ceremony; just a short intimate time for the bride and groom and if required, specially invited key people who will be part of the service.

We are happy to go through one or two rehearsals and as we only do one wedding a day, there is no rush in case another couple are waiting.

After the service, you are welcome to have your photographs taken in our grounds, which offer many wonderful photographic aspects, including the sea and Scarborough Castle as a backdrop.
Being a church, we are not a civil wedding venue or wedding planners, but we do like to go that extra mile to make everything look lovely for you - that is the fun part for us! We like to offer our couples an intimate, personal ceremony with the emphasis on the love they have for each other.
For comfort, we can offer a wedding service for a maximum of 60 people seated.

Pricing...

Cost of Solemnisation of Marriage preparation, chair coverings and sashes, (we have a number of different coloured sashes to choose from to enhance the colour theme of your day), silk floral display, rehearsal, our own Authorised Person to complete the legal paperwork on the day, personal music of your choice and service from £500.
Cost of Renewal of Wedding Vows or Blessing After a Civil Wedding, special anniversary celebrations, including chair coverings and sashes from £200.
Cost of personal flowers would be extra and live musical accompaniment can be discussed.
Please note that due to new governmental laws there is no longer the signing of the register book and the wedding certificate is not issued by any church or wedding venue as this is done by request on line after the wedding. However, we do not wish these two traditional memories to be lost at Harmony, so we can set up the signing photograph after the service, and present you with our own keepsake of your special day.

We are not a venue for Civil Partnerships or registered for Same Sex Weddings, but are happy to perform blessings following such ceremonies.

Harmony Church is the principal church of the Church of Saint Paul, a registered place of worship for the legal Solemnisation of Marriage (Registration Number 43841)

New - Whilst your photographs are being taken, we can arrange for your guests to celebrate your marriage with refreshments situated in the grounds.

Beauty Room

For our brides, if you are staying overnight at Harmony Country Lodge, you might like to have your hair and makeup done by your chosen stylist in our Beauty Room, a light, pretty and relaxing room with a wonderful view.

At some time before the wedding, and as a special treat for the bride and bridesmaids we can offer an Afternoon Tea by arrangement.
